Assessor Psychometric suite returns to Selby & Mills

The popular Assessor psychometric suite has been acquired from Penna Consulting plc by its original authors Colin Selby and Graham Mills and is to be further developed by their company, Selby & Mills. First introduced in the late 1980s, and sold to Penna in 1997, the suite is noted for its versatility and ease of use, whether delivered over the Internet or using traditional pen and paper.

Explains Dr. Colin Selby, who is also a Research Fellow with the School of Business & Social Sciences at the University of Surrey Roehampton and a committee member of the Division of Occupational Psychology of the British Psychological Society: ìThe decision to purchase the tool which we originally created now provides the opportunity for development that will add further to the suiteís power, appeal and ease of use on the Internet.î

The on line delivered personality assessment product offers Competency, Type, EQ, Full Personality and Careers advice modules. It is extensively used by companies around the world and available in a number of languages.

Assessor allows the generation of detailed guidance, competency and personality reports from a single product, rather than requiring use of a number of assessment tools from different suppliers. 102 competencies are reviewed by means of 190 work-related, multiple choice questions in a single assessment tool. It typically takes under 30 minutes to complete the questions. The answers given then allow generation of straightforward, jargon-free reports.

Any job role can be profiled by the selection of the appropriate set of competencies from the directory. An employer can, therefore, review a candidate for several possible job roles simultaneously.

Because the system is designed for use over the Internet it can be used anywhere at any time, contributing to reduced human resources administration and enabling candidate data to be readily collected, and assessed, from around the world.
