In response to the latest figures, Ann Swain Chief Executive at APSCo comments;

“These figures reflect the positivity in the market that the recruitment profession has undoubtedly witnessed over the past months. Indeed, our latest Professional Recruitment Trends Report found that permanent vacancies increased 29% in the year to January 2015. Furthermore, official figures reveal that that the UK was the G7’s strongest growing economy last year with GDP rising by 2.6% - representing the healthiest increase since 2007. As the UK takes the podium for the world’s fastest growing advanced economy, it is clear that this new economic landscape will continue to have a positive impact on recruitment levels across the UK.”

Ann Swain continues;

“Of course, a buoyant economy will always have a positive impact on remuneration as employers scramble to get their hands on star talent. APSCo’s figures similarly reveal that median salaries across the professional sectors that it represents were up by a robust 3.7% year-on-year – and as the economy continues to show strong signs of vitality, I see no signs of this upward trend abating.”
