Specialist business and technology recruitment consultancy to the insurance and financial services sector, Highams Group, is running an Interview Offset programme in partnership with the environmental charity Trees for Cities to help make Britainís cities greener. For every interview it organises, Highams makes a donation to Trees for Cities to help fund planting and landscaping projects in urban areas across the UK.
The programme has already enabled 250 trees to be planted as part of Trees for Citiesí Capital Woodlands Project in Wormwood Scrubs, W10, where the charity works with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The Capital Woodlands Project is dedicated to developing woodland copses and organising activities and events to encourage access and use of these and surrounding woodland by local communities.
Dave Pye, CEO of Highams comments: ìOur Interview Offset programme is proving very popular with candidates and clients alike and weíre looking forward to working with Trees for Cities in 2008. The very valuable work they undertake aims to improve the quality of life for everyone who lives and works in urban areas and Highams is keen to support greener, more sustainable cities.î
Graham Simmonds, Chief Executive at Trees for Cities, comments: ìItís great to see companies like Highams getting involved in urban tree planting programmes, especially where there is a connection between the cities where we are active and where businesses are. Schemes like the one Highams has recently launched really make a difference and get people thinking green.î
