Employment growth in the staffing industry stabilized in November after rapid growth in September and October, according to the ASA Staffing Index. The index increased to 110 during the week of Oct. 15ñ21, the highest level it has reached since the Index was publicly introduced in the summer of 2006. It maintained that level during the week of Oct. 22ñ28, and then decreased slightly to 109 the week of Oct. 29ñNov. 4. It held steady at 109 for the two subsequent weeks, from Nov. 5ñ18.
Released three days before the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly employment situation report, the ASA Staffing Index offers a preview of BLS's nonseasonally adjusted data for temporary help employment.
