December is the time of year when people begin to look back on the past year and begin to plan for the New Year. New Yearís resolutions are rife, and jobs and careers become the subject of much scrutiny. According to a survey by Stark Brooks Associates, over a third of all New Year resolutions relate to people looking to advance their careers.
As a result, Stark Brooks is launching an initiative, aimed at helping people across the North, who are confused not only about their next step, but how to reach their long-term career objectives.
The free initiative, named as Career Month, will run throughout December and early January offering expert advice to people in all employment situations. The team of consultants will advise individuals on how to plan their career using a career-mapping tool, which introduces key timings and goals. In addition, they can advise on how to advance within your chosen profession, the different options available to you and, if required, highlight other careers, which suit your specific skills and capabilities. Individuals can book an appointment at their convenience, both in and out of office hours ñ perfect for those in full time employment.
Sally Toumi, Managing Director at Stark Brooks commented: ìWe decided to launch this initiative for people who have the drive and ambition to succeed, but who are unsure as to how to get to the top of their game. At this time of year people should take stock of their careers and will benefit from forward planning. Even if they are not considering a career change they can use this opportunity to strategically think about their employment future. Many people have great ambitions but fail to reach their desired outcome. This type of intensive evaluation and career mapping can help people realise their aspirations and ultimately achieve their goals.ì
