News Digital has acquired a 49% stake in RECRUITadvantage, a leading provider of recruitment management systems to recruitment companies and employers.

RECRUITadvantage was established by IT specialist Jafeth Rodriguez in 2003 and quickly established a user base of major recruitment companies including Kelly, Manpower, Talent2 and Slade Group.

It is currently used by about 7,000 recruitment consultants in 29 countries in 16 languages.

CEO of News Digital Mediaís careers division, Dr Stephen Hollings said the investment was part of a wider business development plan to expand our offering in the careers area.

RECRUITadvantage is a well-run and profitable business that has huge potential to rapidly grow its market share, both in Australia and internationally, through the investment News is making in the careers division.

Hollings said the RECRUITadvantage technologies were a natural fit with our existing assets and further bolster our offering to advertisers, agencies and users.

The investment followed News Digital's acquisition earlier this year of a share of leading online learning business LearningSeat, he added.

Hollings said RECRUITadvantage would continue to operate as a separate entity run by Rodriguez, but News Digital careers division COO Michael Harvey and strategy development director David Stewart would join the RECRUITadvantage board.

Among RECRUITadvantage's product range is their flagship online recruitment management platform turboRECRUIT; RECRUITai: an artificial intelligence resume parsing and ranking tool; turboVOICE: a voice/telephone enabled recruitment platform and turboSURVEYS: an online survey management tool.
