The Conference Board announced today that James H. Slamp has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Slamp replaces the retiring George Convery, who served The Conference Board for 50 years.

Since 1999, Slamp has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for several venture-backed professional services organizations, most recently with Integrated Development Enterprise, Inc., a software and services firm focused on product portfolio management solutions where he served as CFO since 2004.

Jonathan Spector, CEO of The Conference Board, said: ìWe are fortunate to have someone with Jimís talent and abilities steering our finance department as The Conference Board moves into new territories ñ geographically and substantively ñ over the next few years.î

Slamp began his career in public accounting, working at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 13 years, serving corporate clients delivering and managing accounting, auditing, tax and consulting services. In 1990, he became the Corporate Controller for Ivex Packaging Corporation (since acquired by Alcoa) and, later, for Diamond Management and Technology Consultants, Inc.

Slamp is a member of the Advisory Board of Athenix Solutions; Financial Executives Institute; American Institute of CPAs; Illinois Society of CPAs; Treasurer, Board of Directors, Massachusetts March of Dimes; and a Trustee of Cohasset Sailing Club.
