Successful recruitment drive to train Royal Navy personnel

Flagship secures top trainers for new roles

Flagship Training Ltd (Flagship) is riding on the crest of a wave after the success of one of the largest recruitment campaigns ever launched to facilitate training for the Royal Navy.

Earlier this year Flagship was awarded a 40 million contract to work with the Royal Navy to design, plan, deliver and assess more than 900 courses, prompting the recruitment of specialist instructors and training support staff.

As part of the contract up to 350 roles are being transferred from the Royal Navy to Flagship, which created an immediate demand for 85 new trainers and the prospect of up to 70 more in the coming months.

ìWe needed to fill roles in areas as diverse as fire fighting and warfare, through to engineering and communications,íí said Human Resources Director Nola Waller. ìThe response was amazing and more than 1,000 people applied for the first tranche of roles, the majority with naval backgrounds and a tremendously high level of competence.íí

She said a total of 202 applicants were shortlisted and now 82 have been offered positions ñ a tremendous result for such a diverse campaign for roles across the south and south west.

ìOur new contract to provide training and education is creating an unrivalled opportunity for anyone involved in this field wishing to join our company and be part of what is already shaping up to be an exciting new era for Flagship and for training within the Royal Navy,íí she said.

With the first trainers now making an impact in their new roles, Flagship has launched the next round of recruitment. Potential recruits can find out more about the opportunities available by logging onto www.flagshiptraining.co.uk Alternatively, contact the recruitment team on 02392 339273.
