Employers everywhere are wising up to the fact that improvements in company benefits can put them in better stead against the competition as an attractive salary is no longer enough.
As more and more of us commend the ëwork to liveí ethic, employers are finding it increasingly important to keep up with the latest benefit trends that can differentiate their company from the rest. In keeping a work and lifestyle balance, companies are offering bespoke benefits that are perceived to have a higher value to their employees than cash incentives.
Pension schemes and childcare vouchers have proven to be most popular, however cinema vouchers and health screenings are amongst newer initiatives employers believe will improve staff morale therefore having a knock-on effect on productivity levels in the workplace.
Recruitment specialists Poolia are taking this trend one step further. In 2007 Managing Director Lynda Pickess is introducing the ëPoolia Wellbeing Experienceí to employees. Recognising that good treatment of staff is essential to a smooth-running and successful company Pickess has teamed with Mawson and Company Winchester, an Aveda lifestyle salon and specialists in urban therapy, to dedicate time to employees health and well-being.
Representatives from Mawson and Company will visit Poolia once monthly and work with employees individually or in groups throughout the working day. Staff will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of treatments which include relieving head, neck and shoulder massages, stress busting sessions, relaxation classes as well as one-to-one consultations to help individuals master the art of peaceful living.
Tony Mawson; founder of Mawson and Company believes that employers can benefit from increased productivity and loyalty when offering staff incentives such as this: ëIn my opinion teams and individuals work far better in less stressful environments. Itís important to the team to understand that management sincerely care about their well being. ëMany employees are becoming more aware of ëquality of lifeí issues and all thoughtful benefits are appreciated sometimes above salary increases.í
Employees benefit from a minutes peace
