The Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors: Gary Argent, UK Graduate Recruitment Manager, LogicaCMG and Nikki Williams, Head of Resourcing, Allen and Overy LLP. Their appointments were confirmed at the annual AGM in November and the new directors will formally take up their posts in December.
Gary Argent
Gary joined Logica in 1991 after completing a degree in Computer Science at Kingís College London. After pursuing the traditional technology-focused career path, he went into project management, and eventually spent 18 months looking after a group of projects for the MoD, where he was responsible for more than 30 people and a budget of several million pounds.
In 2000 Gary took a change of direction to work in the central induction team, helping new graduate and senior joiners during their early days in the company, and visiting other companies who had been acquired by Logica to help with the integration process. As part of this team he was involved in the merger of Logica and CMG in 2003, giving him a unique chance to witness first hand the issues involved in integrating two large, multi-national companies, both of which had their own culture and values.
In March 2004 Gary took over as UK Graduate Recruitment manager for LogicaCMG, where he is now responsible for the annual marketing and recruitment cycle for 200 graduates and placement students all around the UK.
Nikki Williams
Nikkiís career in graduate recruitment began at Deloitte and Touche in London as Graduate Recruitment Manager, responsible for recruitment into audit, tax and consultancy, with a particular focus on recruitment marketing.
In 2001, Nikki moved to Allen and Overy LLP as their Graduate Recruitment Manager, with responsibility for all trainee and vacation student recruitment for the London office. She is now Head of Resourcing for the firm as a whole, spending much of her time advising the 25 international offices on their recruitment approach and developing the strategy for recruitment of entry-level and qualified lawyers, partners and support staff. Nikki also has responsibility for internal and external secondments and continues to run the firmís HR team for its UK trainee and student population.
