Septemberís Bank of Scotland Labour Market Report has signalled a slowdown in the rate of jobs growth in Scotland, partly due to a lack of suitable candidates. In this environment wage and salaries continued to post solid increases.

The reportís labour market barometer posted a reading of 59.4 in September, an eight month low. However, the index was still above the equivalent barometer for the wider UK economy and also well above the 50 point level, which signals a growing labour market in north of the border.
