HSA has joined forces with First Data Corp to offer over 1,500 of its employees a bespoke health plan. The worldwide leading supplier of e-commerce and payment solutions contacted HSA when it decided to undertake a complete review of its employee benefits, with a key focus on staff health and welfare.
Based in Basildon and Rotherham and already customers of HSA for many years with a voluntary cash plan available to all employees, the UK division didnít want to take away the health benefits from their staff. Instead, they opted to supplement them. Nicky Kendall, HR Manager at First Data explains, ìAs part of our International Pay Structure review, a decision was made ensuring that all job grade level 1 employees (which covers the majority of our staff) would be provided with some form of healthcare cover, and who had never been offered company paid healthcare before. We required an affordable package which not only offered the usual cash plan benefits such as dental, optical and complementary therapies, but also had a health-screening and consultation element to it.î
HSA therefore designed a bespoke scheme that would not only be attractive to First Data employees, but which would also meet First Dataís requirements and would allow them to provide all level 1 employees with a health benefit. The plan needed to allow employees the option to upgrade to higher benefit levels and include additional family members at low cost.
Jon Manby Business Development Manager at HSA comments, ìHaving brought the business for First Data on board we then implemented a plan which would allow the scheme to be produced, in time for launch. Working alongside our marketing department bespoke and branded literature was produced explaining the new scheme, the levels of cover available and the upgrade payment options.
ìRoadshows were put on by the HSA sales team, visiting all sites explaining the new plan to all staff. This enabled us to be available to answer any questions face-to-face dependent on their needs. Presentations were given to managers and employee representative groups so everyone understood the plan. All in all the launch campaign was very successful resulting in 1606 new members joining.î
