Recruitment Consultancy named Britain’s Top Employer

A recruitment consultancy has beaten well-known brands like Innocent and John Lewis to be named Britain’s Top Employer in 2007.

The Hydrogen Group is recruitment specialist and provider of talent management, outsourcing and consulting services. It scored 84.4 out of 100 in this annual survey by the Corporate Research Foundation which measured companies on eight criteria: pay and benefits; opportunity for promotion; training and development; corporate culture; innovation; diversity/equal opportunities; social responsibility, corporate governance; and environmental record.

Senior management at Hydrogen has invested heavily in staff development and worked hard to create an environment and culture of growth and success. Combined with the Group’s concept of the ’Limitless Career’, they have opened up career options to offer unparalleled opportunities in the sector. This has led to a continuous cycle of development, growth and progression for Hydrogen staff, making the company stand out as an employer.

Commenting on the title, Hydrogen’s managing director Chris Cole says: Hydrogen is no stranger to receiving industry and business accolades. However, this award is particularly important as it recognises the thing that we’re most proud of: building a business that values, develops and supports great people and helping them to succeed - which in turn contributes to high levels of service and client satisfaction.

Britain’s Top Employer is an initiative of Corporate Research Foundation and is judged by an independent research team and panel of advisers. This year’s panel included Professor Shaun Tyson from Cranfield University; Andrew Walker of Croner Reward; Phil Wright from Hay Group; and Nigel Bicknell from Guardian Recruitment Solutions. Results will be published in the 6th edition of Britain’s Top Employers, published by Guardian Books.
