In a strategic move to better compete in the marketplace, telco and superfast broadband provider Biscit (www.biscit.net) today announces the agreed merger with ISP V21. The companies expect to complete the merger within 60 days.
Biscit is one of BT Wholesale’s core telecommunications and broadband providers. It delivers the online world to thousands of enterprises and consumers every minute of the day. By creating an enlarged company, Biscit can upsell its telco and bundled voice and free superfast broadband package, freeMAX, to V21’s 43,000 customers.
Commenting upon the merger, Biscit’s CEO Hugh Paterson states: Merging with V21 fits perfectly with Biscit’s forward strategy to compete directly with companies such as Carphone Warehouse, Orange and Sky. Our goal is to provide V21’s customers with the products that will slash hundreds of pounds out of their voice and broadband costs each year.
Steve Kaye, V21’s CEO adds: Clearly, Biscit is now one of the most dynamic and ambitious voice and data providers in Britain. V21’s customers will benefit greatly from being part of the enlarged company, and from the vision of its world-class management team.
