The Olivier Internet Job Index has hit another new record, with 226,992 job ads counted this month on the Internet

The Olivier Internet Job Index has hit another new record, with 226,992 job ads counted this month on the Internet. That is an increase of 6,393 job ads over May, and a seasonally adjusted increase of 0.95%

Could the Australian internet job market break the 250,000 mark? Helen Olivier, a Director of the Olivier Group, thinks itís possible. ìThe internet job market has been a massive success story - finding a job on the net is now first choice for most employees,î she says. The biggest growth in the past year was in Building and Construction jobs, showing the adoption of the net by blue collar industries.

ìLast year at this time we counted 163,837 jobs in the total market, and wondered if the bubble was about to burst,î Helen Olivier says. ìThe Australian internet market has grown 38.55% since then. As recruiters, we can tell you this is a buoyant market.î

The end of the financial year has pushed some industry sectors up, and some down. ìItís been good for advertising and media job ads, which are up 10.35%. The ad spend dipped in the last quarter for consumer magazines and newspapers, but now there are new budgets and new sales targets. Recruitment began in June for people starting in July,î Helen Olivier says.
