Millionaire’s playgroung a big hit

Springboard UKís Millionaireís Playground was a resounding hit

For the second year running Springboard UKís Millionaireís Playground was a resounding hit. With over 500 hundred guests at the sumptuous Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, the great and the good from the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industries lived the high life with fantastic food and wine, great entertainment and an auction to end all auctions with guest auctioneer, Jonny Gould from Channel 5.

The idea behind the event was to raise vital funds for the Springboard Charitable Trust, which works with young people, unemployed of all ages and the disadvantaged by helping them improve their chances of employment via supporting activities, mentoring and work placement.
With the sector still suffering from high turnover and an image problem Springboardís work is seen as vital to helping the stability of one of Britainís biggest income generators ñ tourism.

Anne Pierce, chief executive officer of Springboard said, ìI want to say a huge thank you to all our sponsors and guests who made this such a special night. The money from both the silent auctions and Palm DíOr along with the fabulous prizes from our main auction will go a long way to ensuring that our consistent work on behalf of the industry continues to bear fruit.î

Guests had the chance to bid for a signed David Beckham shirt, a dayís motor racing with Beachdean Racing and an amazing holiday for four in the Caribbean courtesy of Carlisle Bay as well as playing the ëWho Wants to be a Millionaireí game via giant screens and table keypads.
However, Springboard is faced with one problem as a result of an extraordinary evening, and thatís how they can make it an even bigger success next year!
