Nexus People Recruitment today announced its withdrawal from the Recruitment to Recruitment arena after 16 months.
Managing Director Nathan Annington cited a number of reasons behind the decision, however, specifically named the appalling ethics of competitors.
ìNexus People has been fortunate since its inception to have built a solid and reliable reputation amongst its clients for providing an honest and transparent service. What we have noticed is that more and more people are entering the rec-to-rec sector and fuelling an already out of control fire.
We have a melting pot of companies, including some of the larger names placing candidates then headhunting them for other clients once the rebate has expired, rec-to-recís utilising the candidate shortage to leverage unreasonable Terms on clients and the subtle manipulation of candidates to play clients off to get the highest feeî.
Despite the efforts of the REC to establish a specialist Recruitment to Recruitment division to bring a benchmark to the industry, Nathan describes this as ìthe lip service of a paper tigerî, directing the comment at both the REC and some of the members of this newly formed division who are guilty of exacerbating the Arthur Daley view which many have of the rec-to-rec sector.
Nexus People aim to have completed the disposal of its rec-to-rec division by year end and redeployed staff to work on its Health & Education, IT and Commercial divisions. No redundancies will be made.
