British Jobs teams up with channel five documentary

BritishJobs.net has teamed up with a new Channel Five documentary series that puts the spotlight on recruitment, in order to find suitable candidates keen for a career in car sales and advertising.

Six, one-hour, programmes will be shown in the prime time ëSelling Yourselfí series at the end of this year. BritishJobs.net is using its grid of counties and cities across the UK to find hopefuls with bags of enthusiasm and self-motivation.

Each programme takes the shape of an assessment centre and all filming takes place over three days in a location in London. Head hunters sit on a panel with the employer as five carefully selected candidates are assessed over three days, undertaking various group and individual exercises specifically designed to draw out the qualities needed for the specific role.

One successful candidate will be taken on by Lance Owen, a highly successful Vauxhall dealership based in Surrey. It has over 200 staff across the South East and sells more than 3,500 cars a year. The position offers a basic salary of around 12,000 plus commission and benefits. Lance Owen estimate first year earnings of about 30,000.

Experience is not essential as a full training and development programme through the GM Academy will be offered. The lucky person will become responsible for the sale of new and used cars, finance products, insurance products and accessories.

The second position is with McCann Erickson Worldwide Advertising, the world’s largest and most globally experienced agency network. They need someone of graduate level with an ability to work under pressure and excellent communication skills. If successful, they would be based in Manchester and undertake planning, proposals, marketing and media strategies and be will be taught all production techniques. For this they will be rewarded with a salary of approximately 20k ñ 22k.

So far, programme-makers Shine Ltd have filmed three of the six, 1-hour, programmes and have featured equally interesting and aspirational roles such as an overseas resort manager for Thomson Holidays, a residential sales negotiator for Barnard Marcus Estate Agents and also a wedding consultant.
