Eteach.com, the UKís online teacher recruitment service, received the Hitwise Top 10 by visits Award for the quarter ending September 2005, in the category of ëEducation ñ Referenceí, against all other UK education websites. To rank 8th overall, out of thousands of generalist sites, is a fantastic achievement for Eteach.com.
It is the second time this year that the niche job board has gained a Top 10 ranking from Hitwise - Eteach also received an award for an overall ranking of10th out of all of the UKís recruitment websites. This is particularly significant at a time when the Government is placing a strong emphasis on its e-agenda for schools by promoting the use of online technology to improve efficiency inside and outside the curriculum.
Eteach CEO, Paul Howells, is delighted, commenting, ëThe Award recognises the substantial number of visits we receive from teachers, 8th is our highest ranking this year so we are going from strength to strength. It appears that teachers are using us as a ëfirst port of callí for information thanks to our forums, advice service and our huge number of teaching vacancies. Our visitor numbers have doubled this year and we expect this trend to continue with the new advances being introduced to our website to make the service more, efficient and effective providing users with the best possible recruitment experienceî
In September 2005, usually a quiet month for education recruitment, Eteach received 643,697 visitors generating more than 5,000,000 page views and delivered 290,000 job searches resulting in 20,000 job applications.
