Employers wishing to learn more about online PAYE filing are being offered free advice from the HMRC through a 45 minute masterclass session at next weekís Softworld HR & Payroll trade event (12 ñ 13 October 2005, NEC, Birmingham).
Marie Gibbs, Business Advisor at HMRC will address visitors with an overview of the rules for online filing, as well as offering employers information on how to use PAYE Online. Gibbs will also explain how small employers can get a tax-free payment of 250 by filing their returns early.
ìA whopping 935,000 employers sent their 2004-05 Employer’s Annual Returns online, compared to 85,000 in 2003-04. The tax-free incentive payment is also a huge bonus for small businessesî explains Gibbs. ìDespite this, some organisations are not clear on the process they need to follow. Through the presentation, we aim to offer advice and information on all aspects of PAYE filing and inform employers of the benefits of filing online and the tangible savings they can make by using PAYE Online for Employers. In addition, so employers can choose a service that suits them best we will advise them of all their online filing options with doís and doníts of online filing.î
The background to PAYE Online filing is as follows:
Large employers (250 or more employees) and medium employers (between 50 and 249 employees) are required to file their Employerís Annual Returns online. The presentation will outline and help employers understand their online filing obligations.
Small employers can get a tax-free payment of 250 if they file their return online early.
