Friends Reunited up for sale

Friends Reunited is expected to sell in the next few weeks for something in the region of 100m

The five year old company, which originally became a success by reuniting old school friends, has set bidders a deadline of next week for offers. The group has apparently ruled out a sale to venture capital bidders, with strong interest said to be coming from trade buyers in the UK and US.

The site moved into the online recruitment market some months back with the launch of Friends Reunited Jobs.

Media groups such as News Corp are said to be competing Yahoo and eBay to purchase the network of sites from its management team and founders.
