Employers and Volunteer Organizations Nationwide are Encouraged to Call 1-800-MONSTER to Post Re-employment Opportunities for Survivors and Jobs Focused on Rebuilding Affected Areas

Monster(R), the global online careers and recruitment resource and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc, today launched a customized site - accessible off Monster’s homepage (www.monster.com) and at hurricanerelief.monster.com

- created to help survivors, volunteers, public and private sector employers, and volunteer organizations come together to post and find jobs, volunteer time, and provide help to communities in need. Monster is working with several government agencies to reach the survivors and communities most in need and is offering all private and public sector employers free job postings on this site.

Jobs posted may include re-employment opportunities specifically for Katrina survivors and/or positions to help rebuild the areas devastated by the Hurricane. Currently, the site features hundreds of job opportunities, many of which include relocation assistance, temporary housing and transportation. Monster’s free job posting offer will stand for the lifespan of the customized site’s existence.

As part of this philanthropic initiative, the site includes links to several volunteer organizations; a complete list is available here

. In the coming days, Monster’s Hurricane Relief initiative will feature a job posting board for volunteer-specific opportunities, and will expand to include on-the-ground support in coordination with organizations working in the affected areas.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic events of Hurricane Katrina. We understand that the real challenge for these survivors and the communities affected are only just beginning; they need to rebuild, to find new homes, new jobs and in some cases, acclimate themselves with unfamiliar areas of the country, said Steve Pogorzelski, Group President, Monster. We began this national effort because it fulfills Monster’s core promise to advance people’s lives; it is our hope this initiative will fulfill that critical need during these trying times. Our goal is to help these people rebuild their lives, and reconstruct affected communities. For many, the first step begins with stable employment and we are proud to have so many of our customers joining us in this effort.

How to Post a Free Job
Employers and organizations can call 1-800-MONSTER 24 hours a day, seven days a week to post appropriate jobs.

How to Apply for a Job
Job opportunities will be categorized for Hurricane survivors and people interested in helping with the recovery efforts. Currently, applications and resumes can be easily submitted via the traditional Apply Online feature at Monster. Efforts are underway to offer a simplified process on this special site.
