The Olivier Internet Job Index rose 2.70% in July to another new record high. This represents a weekly average of 168,083 jobs ads counted on the Internet. The index is at 180.05, more than 80% above the base of 100 set in December 1999. Itís double the lowest point it has reached - 90.14 in December 2001.
This is the fourth record month in a row, and this has been the strongest 3 months in the past 12, says Robert Olivier, a director of the Olivier Group. This data will be interesting for economists, because businesses arenít listening to gloomy predictions. The employment rate and the participation rate are going up in step with our figures. Employers are taking a longer term perspective because they understand the value of people for their business.
