Jobsgopublic Managing Director, Andy Wong, has been seconded by the London Development Agency (LDA) to be Director of Recruitment for the new Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA). His role ñ to put together the team that will make the London Games the best yet.

Andy will be leading the recruitment for the interim ODA. This will form the backbone of the new authority, which is due to be set up as part of the London Olympics Bill. Until the Bill is passed, the work is being taken forward by the LDA and Transport for London (TfL).

The ODA is likely to directly employ about 200 people and to deal in addition with about 6000 contractors. It will be responsible for issues such as Olympic property, procurement, infrastructure, planning and design.

Andy said: ìIt is a great honour to have been asked to take on this important role. The success of the 2012 Olympics will be just as dependent on the skills and talent of those behind the scenes as on the sporting prowess of those athletes who will be competing in the games themselves.

ìIt is a huge responsibility and I am extremely excited to be able to play a significant part in such a crucial project. I am determined to recruit the best possible team to ensure that we deliver a fantastic 2012 Gamesî.

Andy will report directly to Manny Lewis, Chief Executive of the London Development Agency.
