Aston Taylor has started a new Division aimed at the Trainee Consultant market. ìThereís a massive skills shortage, a Consultant Crisis.î says Vic Chuntz, Aston Taylorís CEO ìWeíve currently over 1,000 Live Vacancies for experienced Recruiters and the demand continues to increase, but thereís just not enough effort being made to attract new talent into the industry. Weíve always operated in this area, but now weíre giving it the attention and focus it deserves. The Division allows us to offer Clients & Candidates a genuine ëfull serviceí and complements our Executive & Consultant Divisions.
ìWe can honestly say we gain the most satisfaction from placing a Trainee into their first position and seeing their career flourish. We spend a great deal of time making sure the Trainees are actually right for the industry. As almost all recruitment positions demand sophisticated levels of sales ability, we weed out those whose motivations are mainly just to help people, or want recruitment just because they say they are good at talking. In fact, only 1 in every 50 applicants passes our thorough screening process. A number of potential Trainees are put through our free Work Experience Program which not only teaches them the basics, but also helps decide if they have what it takesî.
Demand for the best Trainees is widespread, particularly in the I.T., Finance and Commercial sectors, especially in the major cities, London, Birmingham, Leeds & Manchester. Generally Clients are looking for self-confident, articulate and hungry people, ideally with some experience of Sales or Customer Service. ìWe only deal with the Clients who provide proper inductions and ongoing training.î says Vic Chuntz. These companies offer real careers to Trainee Recruiters; theyíll expect hard work & dedication, but the rewards and future are well worth it.
