For those still doubting the Indian IT prowess, hereís some news. The online recruitment market in India is touching close to Rs 140 crore and more than 45 per cent of this market is fuelled by tech-jobs alone.
In a bid to tap the growing Indian market, a number of US companies are setting up shop here with leading US-based IT recruiter Dice Inc being one of them.
Abraham Mathew, CEO of newly formed CyberMedia Dice Careers Ltd, said more and more US-based IT companies are looking at increasing their presence here. ëëIn the last two years, the Indian tech sector has shown remarkable growth, as a result there is an increase demand by US companies who have a presence in India and to recruit in India,íí he said.
For Dice Inc, India will be the first venture outside the US soil. ìMost of our US customers were looking at hiring in India and they were looking at the tech-jobs specifically,î said Michael P. Durney, CFO, Dice Inc. More than 80 per cent of Dice Incís customers in the US have a presence in India. ëëOur US customers are looking at hiring between 100 to 1,000 in the next year or so, and hiring online is always convenient for them,íí Durney added. per cent of this market is fuelled by tech-jobs alone.
