CareerJunction celebrated its 6th annual Junction Awards ceremony in customary style on the evening of 16 September 2009 at the Vodadome in Midrand. This popular annual event recognises excellence in recruitment service delivery by South African Recruitment Agencies, as voted for by CareerJunction CareerSeekers. The 2009 Junction Awards were again co-sponsored by Sowetan and SundayWorld, and this year more than 6,000 votes were cast by CareerSeekers, nominating a total of 624 recruitment agencies.
With close on 500 attendees being entertained by the likes of a highly energetic set by 1st Project, 'Silent Conductor' Steve Barnett and MC Mark Banks - the evening was a glitzy and prestigious award ceremony with awards presented in three categories to Recruitment Agencies; small, medium and large. The Agency size is determined by the average number of jobs they advertise on CareerJunction over a period of 6 months.
The theme of the evening, 'The Rhythm of Recruitment', was kicked off with Steve Barnett coaxing out a symphony from the audience. MC Mark Banks kept the audience in stitches and the evening rolling along effortlessly.
Kris Jarzebowski, CEO of CareerJunction, was on hand to give an overview of CareerJunction's successes and why it has constantly remained South Africaís #1 Job Site - also giving us a glimpse of exciting future endeavours. ìCareerJunction has once again proved itself as South Africaís #1 Job Site, with a growth now exceeding the 1.3 million mark for the number of registered career seekers and 751,675 searchable resumes, which indicates a growth of 100,000 resumes over the past year - an achievement we are extremely proud of,î says Kris Jarzebowski.
