In March online recruitment saw an increase in activity, which was compared to the same month in the previous year. Online job opportunities continue to increase, with technical sectors being the strongest performers in online recruitment. The sectors to see the biggest decrease is the banking and public sector which declined 6% on the year. The south west and East Anglia continues to strengthen and saw the biggest increase in online job postings .
According to Isabelle Ratinaud, Monster UK and Ireland spokesperson the Monster Employment Index indicates that there is still broad job availability across the country. “While growth rate slowed during the autumn months, the private sector continues to grow steadily within industries such as IT, construction, transport and research and development, which could help in some way to offset public sector job losses. Construction has maintained its steady upward growth trend this month and remains at its highest recruitment level since December 2008, pre-recession.”
