Jobg8 sponsors
the first benchmark survey conducted by members of the job board industry. In support of the International
Association of Employment Web Sites (IAEWS), Jobg8 is sponsoring a survey that
will provide participants with strategically significant metrics.
Purpose:
The purpose of
this benchmark survey is to provide a mechanism to collect job board
performance data that for the first time would allow a job board to measure
their effectiveness and efficiency on a number of key performance metrics and
job board features. This is the first industry-led effort to collect benchmark
data that will allow a job site to compare their performance with other job
board websites worldwide. Peter Weddle, CEO of the IAEWS, noted that “This survey is
yet another sign of employment Web-sites’ commitment to continuous improvement
in their services and operations for both employers and job seekers.”
Scope:
All job boards are encouraged to
participate with the first year’s survey, which will be simple to complete. The
survey will be open to all job boards, IAEWS members and Jobg8 clients worldwide.
Jobg8 has agreed to sponsor the survey for at least the first 2 years. Any job
board or employment website deciding to participate in the survey will be
offered a special IAEWS membership for the rest of 2011. They will also be
invited to participate in the presentation of results at the IAEWS fall
conference on September 7th in Florida. There will be no cost
for any job board to participate in this first study.
Methodology:
The survey
allows participants to receive a full non-attributable report. In addition, a 2-3 hour discussion period will be part of the IAEWS fall
meeting, to not only review the results, but to discuss the meaning of the
results, as well as best practices from the participating members. A general
summary will be presented to all conference attendees, but detailed
data will only be available to participants. Survey
participants will also discuss how to improve the survey next year. Critical
Insights, a Portland Maine based independent research company will be used to
collect and publish the data, including all cross-tabs
so that participants can be assured of the confidentiality and security of
their data.
Conclusion
Jobg8 is pleased to help
support this first international effort to acquire true performance benchmarks
for the job board industry. Matt Hoffner, president of Jobg8 North America
adds, “For the first time job board operators will have real information that
will allow them to improve performance and effectiveness for their advertising
clients. Smart job boards are far
from “dead” and will use this opportunity to continue to improve and offer more
compelling products and services for their clients.” The invitation to participate in the survey will be sent to
all IAEWS and Jobg8 clients beginning June 22nd. For those participating, the surveys will then be released
on, or before July 11th.
