6 more O2 apprenticeships up for grabs

Apply by 20th September to avoid missing out

O2 is calling for more of the UK’s ambitious young talent to join its established apprenticeship programme, and kick-start their digital careers at the heart of one of the UK’s biggest tech companies. Applications for one of 6 new vacancies are open now, and will close on 20th September.

The announcement comes after O2 announced 33 vacancies in early July as part of an expanded apprenticeship programme designed to reach every area of the business for the first time. The move follows the great success of former apprenticeship programmes in O2’s  Network, Operations, Business Customer teams and Stores.

The new and expanded programme offers a broader variety of roles for all those itching to develop their skills at the same time as earning a salary.

6 new apprenticeships in O2’s Slough HQ and Leeds Arlington Business park

  • Budding apprentices are invited to apply for a mixture of Advanced and Higher apprenticeships available across a variety of directorates, including Finance, Think Big , Operations, and Sales & Service.
  • Programmes last between 18 months and two years, with all successful applicants gaining in-depth training designed to get them set for a career in digital, all at the very heart of one of the UK’s largest tech companies.

Opportunities are also still available in Guru roles for O2 stores in London, Bristol, Sheffield or Birmingham

Ann Pickering, O2 HR Director commented:

“At O2, we’ve run a fantastic apprenticeship programme for many years, knowing that the young talent we hire is the future of our business. Our apprentices give us the opportunity to harness the skills and fresh perspectives of an ambitious, digitally-savvy generation. This is why we’ve expanded the scheme this year to take on our largest group of apprentices yet, across an even broader variety of roles.

Ultimately, we recruit for attitude and train for skill so we want to bring people into the business who are willing to learn and above all excited about a career at O2. If aspiring apprentices can make that enthusiasm and passion shine in their applications, they’ll be off to a good start.”

Matt Smart, O2 apprentice, commented:

“Joining the apprenticeship programme at O2 is the best career decision I could have made. The scheme has offered me a unique opportunity to gain invaluable on-the-job training, and to learn as I earn under the guidance of leading digital and business experts.

Above all, it’s been an opportunity to try out different roles across a broad variety of business areas, helping build my confidence and experience as I continue to shape my future career in digital.”

Applications for apprenticeships are open now. Successful candidates will begin their roles on the 31st October. To apply or find out more, visit https://o2careers.co.uk/early-careers.
