The deadline for the National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) Awards 2013 has been extended by a few weeks to give companies more time to enter over the busy festive period.
Businesses offering internships to students or graduates now have until Friday 11 January 2013 to enter their schemes or to be nominated by a student or careers adviser. All UK organisations are eligible to enter at www.work-experience.org/awards.
The 13 award categories* cover the full spectrum of organisations from large and small operations to those in the public and charitable sectors. Both short and long-term internships are eligible for an award as well as those that have been recently set up.
Mike Hill, chief executive of the Higher Education Careers Services Unit that runs the NCWE Awards says: “This year mark’s the 10th anniversary of the NCWE Awards and they have grown to become the most established and prestigious awards in their field.
“Companies boasting an NCWE Award have used it to validate the quality of their scheme, helping them to attract more high calibre interns into their business. If you would like to be recognised for the quality of your work experience opportunities I urge you to enter.”
To mark the NCWE Awards 10th anniversary, a new category has been introduced. The ‘Best of the Best’ is open to all previous overall winners, and this year will also see Timpson chairman, John Timpson as host. Finalists will be notified in February 2013, when they will be invited to the awards ceremony in central London in March 2013.
This year’s sponsors include the Association of Graduate Recruiters, GlaxoSmithKline, Intel, PlaceNet and TUI UK & Ireland.
