Taleo Corporation (NASDAQ: TLEO) a global leader of SaaS-based Talent Management, today announced that Pernod Ricard, the world’s co-leader in wines and spirits, has standardised on a comprehensive, integrated portfolio of Taleo talent management solutions to underpin the company’s global talent strategy, provide powerful talent intelligence, and drive the next phase of business growth.
Pernod Ricard, which owns some of the most prestigious brand portfolios in the wines and spirits sector, such as Absolut Premium Vodka, Jameson’s Irish Whisky, Havana Club rum and Beefeater gin, will use the Taleo Enterprise™ on-demand solution to build upon an existing Taleo recruitment solution and implement a cost-effective, transparent talent management strategy for all managers.
“This important step will herald a new era of agility, innovation, and business growth for Pernod Ricard in the wines and spirits market,” says Bruno Rain, Managing Director, in charge of Human Resources (HR) and Corporate Social Responsibility. “Pernod Ricard has a collective commitment to performance, and Taleo will enable the company to attract the best possible talent, develop skill sets, and foster a mindset of leadership, commitment, and passion. This talent management strategy will ultimately create a genuine source of lasting competitive advantage for Pernod Ricard.”
Pernod Ricard operates a proven decentralised business model, comprising six primary brand companies (including The Absolut Company, Chivas Brothers, and Martell Mumm Perrier Jouet), connected with some 70 market subsidiaries in America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Taleo will replace a fragmented assortment of talent management products and processes previously used in these businesses, with one globally unified talent management system. Using the advanced cloud computing architecture and common data model, Pernod Ricard anticipates going live on the first phase of the program in just six months’ time.
This first phase of the integrated implementation will be performance management. Taleo will help Pernod Ricard to drive an agile culture by objectively assessing employee performance against the key objectives of the organisation. Among many advantages, the SaaS solution will automate and streamline enterprise performance management, provide the managers with frequent performance evaluation feedback, and create opportunities to link employee development activities with enterprise performance assessments to capitalize on employee strengths and mitigate skill gaps.
The second phase will support compensation management. Taleo will allow the introduction of a consistent approach to top positions compensation plans worldwide, eliminate expensive manual processes, and promote a more performance-based culture.
Pernod Ricard will follow this up with the roll-out of Taleo’s best-in-class learning management system. Aligned with the Pernod Ricard University, this will connect the company’s learning management, content management, social learning, and collaboration—all in one single platform.
One of the main reasons for standardising on Taleo for talent management was the success of an existing Taleo recruitment solution. In less than five months, Pernod Ricard rolled out the solution in 70 countries, giving HR a global recruitment view and employees access to the full range of vacancies, increased talent mobility and collaboration, and greater control over their careers.
Commenting on the reasons for choosing Taleo, Maité Galloux, HRIS & HR Communications Manager at Pernod Ricard, explains, “Taleo’s SaaS solutions offer Pernod Ricard the opportunity to quickly and efficiently introduce a single, common standard approach to talent management. We hope the powerful, easy-to-use functionality will be popular with all our staff, and will offer the flexibility to integrate emerging trends, such as social media.”
