Magna chooses Bond Teamspirit HR and Payroll Software

Magna Housing Group, the provider of quality affordable homes to rent and buy across the south west of England, has signed an ongoing contract with Bond Teamspirit, for its modular yet fully integrated HR and Payroll software.

The upgraded Payroll and HR solution from Bond Teamspirit provides an online service that enables employees and managers to view and update their personal information on a single database, thereby reducing the amount of time HR personnel spend on manually inputting information and simultaneously providing employees with online payslips and greater visibility of their personal information.

Magna Housing Group has approximately 450 staff managing their 8,000 properties across Dorset, Devon and Somerset – an extremely disparate workforce. Implementing the Bond Teamspirit Payroll and HR solution will increase the efficiency with which the eight personnel and payroll staff handle employees’ pay and HR requirements as the self-service module allows staff to update and view their own personal information, view their own pay information and apply for holiday approval. This removes a large administrative burden from the payroll team and allows their time to be spent on more valuable tasks such as new HR initiatives.

Previously, Magna had been using Bond Teamspirit’s Payroll solution, with minimal use of the HR module. However, Magna soon recognised the need to implement the HR and self-service modules in order to improve personnel requirements and reduce the burden of manual data entry.

Using the new system, personnel and payroll administrators at Magna now have reliable employee information upon which to base the payroll and have instant access to all 450 personnel records via the centralised single database. Magna has also improved the efficiency of its monthly payroll and now has the means to implement reliable processes to monitor and plan training requirements in areas as diverse as data protection and health and safety – a core legislative requirement within the housing industry.

With the upgrade, we have streamlined our HR and Payroll process through employee self-service and providing managers with direct access to staff data.. Bond Teamspirit has reduced the necessity for any manual intervention and has meant that staff are now able to access and update their information removing a considerable proportion of administration time.”

In addition to the time saved through the self-service system, Magna has also been able to provide its employees with the option of online payslips as an alternative to paper ones – a system which they are hoping to adopt completely in the next few months – which will also provide additional cost and time savings by removing the printing and distribution process, as well as limiting the department’s impact on the environment.
