Viadeo launches more interactive and personalized navigation dashboard -incorporating feedback and suggestions received from its members.

The Viadeo dashboard is used by members to access their online professional networking universe – it is here that users control their online activities, keep track of updates and access the broad number of Viadeo services on offer.

In creating a more interactive and personalized dashboard, Viadeo is giving its members complete control of their account. In doing so, the online network is ensuring that each individual memberís needs are being met – and therefore providing them with a more effective and time efficient networking experience.

Now live on the Viadeo website, the dashboard overhaul is the first step in a global move towards a ëmembers needsí focused evolution of the site.

Turning Viadeo into an effective and easy-to-use tool is also a way for the company to participate in the democratisation of the use of professional social networks, as well as developing a market that is still very much in its infancy.

Whatís new:

Not only is the revamped Viadeo dashboard much easier to use, but it is now configurable.

Accessed by a tab indicating the name of the member, the dashboard is split into three columns:

ìMy Networkî, in the centre:

- Details activities of contacts in the memberís network – an area which can be personalised depending on the type of news the user wishes to receive (profile changes, messages, etc.)

- My potential contacts - ìmy contactsí contactsî, highlighting the value of the extended professional network.

ìMy Menuî, on the left:

- Direct access to a userís inbox, sent items, contacts and member introductions

- Shortcuts to several Viadeo services (my communities, my forums, employment opportunities, recommended articles, and so on.).

ìMy Modulesî, on the right:

- Viadeo applications (ìThey viewed my profileî, ìEmployment offersî, to name just two.)

- The member can choose which applications they wish to see listed. The modules (which are developed in Ajax) can be repositioned by simply dragging and dropping them where required.
