With unemployment numbers as grim as they are, and economic forecasts signposting further redundancies, it’s not surprising that potential job seekers have been apprehensive about making career moves. The ongoing trend towards leaner, more cost efficient companies is another bad sign for job hunters.

However, whilst changing careers is possible – it’s not effortless.

Tate’s Managing Director, Jo Edwards says, “Positive news for job seekers is that recent studies show that employers across nearly all industries are starting to hire again and the demand for permanent appointments is at its strongest since July 2007. To aid their efforts, it is advisable that they tap into the resources of recruitment agencies. The benefits of utilising a recruitment agencies network are numerous and in particular, provide job seekers with direct access to many reputable companies. They also allow you to cast a wide net when assessing which companies are hiring”

It’s not easy to change careers in any climate however, if you speak with a recruitment agency for professional advice, you could find yourself in a new role that is more rewarding.
