Young retail candidates top fish4 CV database rankings

With over 20,000 new registrations in January alone, the fish4jobs CV database is proving popular with a particular type of candidate ñ young, experienced and aspirational.

The regional split of registrations on the database is not, perhaps, as many would predict. ìWhile London is our top ranked city, Birmingham and Manchester have nearly half as many registrations,î reveals Mahon. ìIf you consider the relative population size of each city, this clearly shows fish4ís regional strengthsí

ìItís widely recognised in the industry that CV databases are the latest big thing in recruitment and weíre very pleased with the calibre, age and regional split of our growing number of quality candidates.î

Five key facts you should know about the fish4jobs CV database:

1. 20,000 candidates have registered their CVs on our database in January 2006, with Birmingham ranked top in the UK, followed by Manchester and London.

2. Unlike most other CV databases, you can pinpoint candidates by postcode (as well as by age, industry, experience, salary and freshness of CV.)

3. More than 50 per cent of CV registrations are by individuals aged between 17 and 26 years.

4. One in five CVs registered on fish4jobs is from a retail worker (Hospitality, travel & leisure ranks second).

5. Over half the CVs on our database are from candidates with up to two yearsí experience.
