X-Genics signs with Workforce Window to ease practice managersí HR headaches

X-Genics, the provider of eManager compliance software products, has teamed up with Workforce Window Ltd, an HR Consultancy that has worked with General Practice for the past seven years, to offer GP practices and consortia a comprehensive HR solution.

Currently some HR functions are divided between the primary care trusts and practices, with PCT GP surgeries acting as ‘performers’ and PCTs fulfilling a monitoring role. Under this system, HR managers, health and safety managers and quality outcomes framework (QOF) managers employed by PCTs determine standards that practices should meet, then scrutinise their implementation. This has brought some duplication as GP practice managers have mirrored the activities of PCT personnel.

Working together with Workforce Window, X-Genics has cut through to deliver a more efficient way forward. Now consortia, as well as individual GP practices, can have instant access to a comprehensive, professional, expert HR function. The package includes auto-updating policies and HR procedures, HR telephone support and advice, on-site visits during the year and access to structured training and educational seminars – a complete HR solution.

The two firms are offering The Employment Handbook to ensure doctors and their practice managers are right up to date on the staffing issues they’re likely to encounter in running an effective healthcare centre.

Originally launched at the NPAC conference 2010, The Employment Handbook is a unique product whose content is updated automatically so users are guaranteed that the information they rely on is current, leaving practice managers with one less thing to worry about.

“We are providing something new, that practice managers need,” said Shabana Dehlavi of X-Genics. “Practice managers just don’t have the time to keep updating documents and inevitably, with other calls on their time, cannot always keep up to date with constantly changing legislation.

“There’s no messy documentation, and content is up to date. With The Employment Handbook now available through eManager, practice managers have all they need in an effective HR package, at their fingertips.”

Joanne Harding, Director or Workforce Window, commented: “To enhance the service that we provide, we have partnered with X-Genics’ eManager to provide a streamlined, cost-effective software solution, which complements the HR consultancy service we currently provide to a range of practices and consortia.”

With the forthcoming Care Quality Commission compliance rules stressing good HR practices being adopted and evidenced, eManager is perfectly suited for this, providing effortless record keeping and a complete audit trail of each and every person and activity.

The joint venture is a natural progression for both X-Genics and Workforce Window, and likely to be welcomed by GPs. “Workforce Window helped our practice with both strategic planning and project management in many areas including new pay and award scheme, implementation of staff hand book and HR policies, strategic workforce development and service planning,” said Dr Nav Chana, Medical Director, Cricket Green Medical Practice and Member of Executive Board of NAPC. “I have no hesitation in recommending Workforce Window.”
