The Association of Women Solicitors (AWS) celebrated the announcement of their fourth annual Excellence Awards, sponsored by Fraser & Fraser, genealogists, with a gala dinner in London last night, Thursday 24 May, kindly hosted by DLA Piper
A notable past winner includes Lucy Scott-Moncrieff, the Law Society Vice President, for her services to Legal Aid.
Allison Page, a partner at DLA Piper in Leeds attended as the AWS Legal Businesswoman of the Year 2011. She said: “We were delighted to host this dinner and welcome previous winners of the AWS Awards to celebrate their achievements. It is a real privilege to be the AWS Legal Businesswoman of the Year.”
AWS Chairwoman Joy Van-Cooten invited motivated women to nominate themselves or their colleagues in this year’s awards. She said: “The AWS is proud of the calibre and industry support for our awards which go from strength to strength.”
AWS Council member Sarah Austin said “It is great to see such inspirational women receive their deserved recognition.”
An overall winner will be chosen from the individual category winners to receive the title of AWS/Law Society Legal Businesswoman of the Year; which will be announced at the Law Society’s Excellence Awards in the Autumn.
This event marks the start of a schedule of high profile events celebrating the 90th anniversary of the AWS.
