On Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 February the UK’s leading graduate jobs website WikiJob.co.uk brought social media into the real world by holding two professional networking events for students and employers at Blackall Studios in Shoreditch.
The events, which focused on IT/Engineering and Finance respectively, offered employers and job seekers a chance to mingle in a relaxed, sophisticated and more “grown up” environment than the traditional milkround style careers fair.
Employers, including PwC, KPMG, RBS, BAE Systems, Detica, IBM and Santander, were invited to join discussion panels throughout the night, fielding questions from the 200+ students on the floor.
Overall the WikiJob events proved hugely successful with one employer making a job offer the day after the event and another recounting some great feedback on their blog!
