University of Strathclyde launches new service for graduate jobseekers

The University of Strathclyde has launched a new service for graduates looking to get on the career ladder.

The Universityís Careers Service has launched Graduate Jobsearch Online, a web guide of resources aimed at helping students and graduates find vacancies and job opportunities in the UK and abroad. The guide has been funded by the University of Strathclydeís Graduatesí Association, whose main purpose is to provide support to students and to the University.

Rose Mary Harley, Secretary of the Graduates Association, said, ìWe are delighted to be funding a project that will provide further assistance to students and graduates in a difficult employment market.î

Over sixty new employment websites have been incorporated into the Graduate Jobsearch Online portal, with every web link having been carefully selected by Careers Service staff to provide quick and efficient results that will benefit jobseekers. It can be browsed at http://www.strath.ac.uk/careers/graduatejobsearch by job sector or by country, making it particularly useful to overseas alumni.

Barbara Graham, Director of the Careers Service, said: ìWe are confident that Graduate Jobsearch Online will prove invaluable for current students as well as alumni all over the world. With every link checked, we can be confident that the search facility provides valid information.

Barbara added, ìTaking a proactive and targeted approach to job hunting is imperative in todayís highly competitive labour market. The Graduate Jobsearch Online will help students to find graduate level vacancies in their chosen sector and will save time by bringing together a host of online resources.î
