The University of Southampton is to implement First Advantage Hiring Management Systems (FADV HMS, formerly Projectix), the applicant tracking and candidate management software. The University is one of the UKís leading research universities and currently has around 20,000 students and 5,000 staff based across several campuses in Hampshire. The recruitment process involves 200,000 CVs being assessed by the HR Department each year.
Sue Kellaway, Head of Staff Recruitment for the University, said: ìFollowing a comprehensive review of the hiring process, I identified that an on-line application and recruitment tracking system would give us some great advantages.
ìThese include access to recruitment data, as previously we had no facility to monitor the success or volume of our hiring process, and on-line application forms allowing candidates to enter details for themselves. In addition, this up-to-date approach is in keeping with Southamptonís status as a modern university.î
The University HR team believes that FADV HMS will greatly reduce administration costs and paperwork, allowing more time for advising managers on best approaches and focusing on recruiting top level candidates in a competitive market place.
Ms Kellaway said: ìWe chose FADV HMS because it offered all the benefits of a large database system for recruitment administration, but with the functionality and front end of a web site application. This facility makes it easy to use, easy to train on, with a flexible front end so that we can customise the pages and make it look and feel like a University of Southampton web site.î
Felix Stroud-Allen, First Advantage HMSís Head of Sales and Marketing for UK and Europe, added: ìWe are very pleased to be working with such a highly regarded institution as Southampton. The University has a set of diverse needs that present a number of challenges within their recruitment process.
ìThe selection of First Advantage HMS to meet these challenges is testament to the fact that we are one of the leading recruitment solution providers in the market.î
