Triple Creek Associates today announced they won a 2008 ASTD Excellence in Practice Citation in partnership with CDW. The winning entry showcased the Mentor Match program at CDW that uses Triple Creekís web-based Open Mentoring process. This marked the second straight year that Triple Creek won an Excellence in Practice Citation.
ìWeíre so happy for CDW and the success theyíve achieved with their mentoring program,î said Randy Emelo, President and CEO of Triple Creek Associates. ìWe continue to see proof that e-mentoring works and are excited by the ever-evolving possibilities for using it in organizations: from groups to individual learning relationships to massive knowledge sharing initiatives.î
A leading provider of technology products and services for business, government and education, CDW worked with Triple Creek to implement an e-mentoring program as part of their holistic online development suite.
ìThe web-based Open Mentoring solution is a scalable mentoring process that we have been able to leverage across all of our locations,î said Danielle Krupinski , Manager of Workforce Planning at CDW. ìWe couldnít be happier with this solution and the ongoing support we receive from the Triple Creek Associates team.î
As a result of Mentor Match, CDW reduced mentoring program costs by 96%, even as they increased participation numbers nearly eightfold when compared to their paper-based program numbers, going from 108 participants to 798 as of December 2008.
ìWith companies struggling to find a balance between trimming costs and giving their remaining employees what they need to be successful, Open Mentoring stands out because it provides solid results with minimal costs,î said Emelo. ìOpen Mentoring offers a way to stoke knowledge sharing through natural behaviors, and organizations are finding that they can use it in many more ways than what they originally imagined.î
Presented by the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the Excellence in Practice Awards program recognizes organizations for results achieved through learning and performance practices and solutions. For 2008, ASTD received 132 submissions, from which they gave 17 awards and 44 citations. Winners will be recognized in June during the 2009 ASTD International Conference and Exposition in Washington, D.C.
