Graduate recruiters are urging their counterparts to take part in the first survey that will reveal the realities of graduate programmes, creating transparency within the industry.
More than 100 companies have already committed to Real Prospects 2009, which explores graduates opinions of their employersí recruitment, training and career development programmes.
Qinetiq is one of the companies taking part in Real Prospect 2009. Miranda Davies, Graduate Recruitment Manager says: ìItís vital that graduate recruiters take part in this study. We currently only truly understand student perceptions and expectations of an organisation, pre-employment. By committing to Real Prospects we have an opportunity to gain insight into not only how our own programmes are performing but also the performance of the sector as a whole.î
Mike Hill, Chief Executive of Graduate Prospects, the company behind the initiative adds: ìWe need as many employers and graduates to take part in this survey as possible to ensure we can deliver a realistic picture of the industry. By improving transparency we can help employers make better informed decisions when developing graduate recruitment programmes as well as help students make educated decisions when job hunting.î
Real Prospects 2009 is open to all recruiters and employers of graduates in the UK and they can sign-up to take part in the survey until 12 January 2009. Standard participation is free and companies will receive a summary copy of the main report as well as be included as a participating company in all research reports. All data will be anonymised and employers requiring a pull-out, analysis and report of their own results, including benchmarking data, will be able to choose from additional Partner and Associate packages.
Developed in partnership with the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) and The Guardian, Real Prospects is an annual survey. The 2009 results will be launched at the AGR Conference in July 2009.
