Three recruitment companies are among the 18 organisations to have been shortlisted in the first London Excellence Awards, a prestigious new scheme to celebrate the capitalís outstanding enterprises.
They include:
Central-London based Credentials Ltd (Step Ahead) ñ shortlisted for three awards: Customer Focus, People Development and Organisational Learning
Central London-based Partners Group ñ shortlisted for People Development and Results Focus awards
North London-based School Governors One-Stop-Shop (school governor recruitment specialists) ñ shortlisted for the Results Focus award
Now it is fingers crossed for the organisations which must wait to hear whether they have scooped an award at a glittering ceremony this summer, hosted by BBC business journalist Adam Shaw and including a key note speech from Sir Digby Jones, Director-General of the Confederation of British Industry.
The awards are the first to recognise London organisations and individuals for improvements they have made in their workplace as a result of best practice. They go only to companies which can demonstrate the highest standards of excellence in everything from results, leadership and management systems to people development and corporate social responsibility. Two coveted Blue Riband awards will go to the highest achieving organisation and individual.
Devised by London Excellence, the not-for-profit organisation which helps businesses and organisations in the capital perform to world-class excellence standards, the awards are being judged by experts in the field of quality.
London Excellence chairman Caroline Buttery said: ìWith the growing global economy it is vital that Londonís businesses maintain competitive edge by striving to achieve excellence in all that they do. These awards recognise the pioneering companies that are already one step ahead.î
