The Training Camp rallies TUC support for Time to Train campaign

Tax breaks for training leave gains industry support

The Training Camp is asking the TUC to join its ëTime to Trainí campaign to support UK PLC training initiatives.

The TUC recently called for legislation giving employees paid leave specifically for training. However, The Training Camp believes rewarding the organisation is the only way to provide long-term resource for staff qualifications. As a result, the Accelerated Learning pioneer is calling for tax breaks for companies providing a certain amount of annual leave per year, which the employee must take for training purposes.

The Training Camp launched ëTime to Trainí earlier this year. It has been overwhelmed by messages of support on the campaignís website, www.trainingisourfuture.co.uk. To date, almost 500 people have signed up.

ìThe TUC has hit the nail on the head. UK PLC is not helping employeesí training and development, particularly in areas of skills shortage, such as IT,î said Rob Chapman, CEO and founder, The Training Camp. ìWhile supporting employees individually with legislation, organisations also need to be rewarded financially. Tax breaks for companies offering time off to train would give any scheme the top down support it needs. Thatís the case whether there is legislation in place or not.î
