It's that time again, to start compiling your entries for the 2011 Savoy Gastronomes’ Olive Barnett Award. The award seeks to actively reward excellence in employees who work in one of the vital customer facing roles in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry.
In today's ever changing work environment, employees who keep their skills and experience a cut above the rest are making a wise investment in their career. The knowledge, experience and career development to be gained through winning this award simply cannot be measured.
The 2011 winner, Amy Dignon, said of winning the award: “I am completely overwhelmed and so proud of what I have achieved. This highlights that you should never give up in trying to fulfil your dreams. I will continue to strive for excellence and recommend that if you are passionate about your customer facing role and love the industry, you should certainly enter!”
Entering the three stage competition is straightforward - submit a vibrant and engaging two minute video speaking on why you have chosen the hospitality, leisure or tourism industry as a career and why you feel you should be considered to receive The Savoy Gastronomes’ Olive Barnett Award. From these entries a shortlist of 30 will be selected to then submit a 750 word report. The final short list of 8 will be invited to attend the judging weekend on the 20th May 2011 at the newly refurbished, The Savoy Hotel.
