The Apprentice concluded last night in a tension-filled episode that saw Yasmina Siadatan crowned winner of the series. Despite high standards from both finalists, Sir Alan Sugar chose Yasmina over fellow finalist Kate Walsh in a task to produce and market a new brand of chocolates. She will now start her dream job as Sir Alan Sugarís apprentice.

Monster.co.ukís Apprentice watcher observes:

Now that Yasmina has won the series, she will still be expected to prove herself in her new role. However high our professional standards, we all feel the pressure to make a good impression when we start a new job. For anyone about to start a new job, Monster recommends the following tips for your first day:

- Plan your journey: set out early to ensure you arrive feeling calm, collected and ready to face the challenge

- Smile! You have passed the test with your interviewers but will still be meeting many people for the first time, so make sure you portray yourself as friendly and approachable

- Make an effort to remember peopleís names: repeat peopleís names when they introduce themselves – this will help you both remember them and form a bond with the new people you meet

- Show enthusiasm! You know how pleased you were to be offered your dream job, now itís up to you to ensure everyone sees you as a great new member of the team and looks forward to working with you

- Be nice to everyone: you wonít know who everyone is on your first day so take time to be friendly to all new faces. The ìreceptionistî may turn out to be your new boss. Equally possible is that the receptionist is best friends with your new boss, and will be asked for feedback on your attitude
