A North-East recruitment company is in line for an award.
TechConsult UK Ltd, based at The Wilton Centre near Redcar, has been shortlisted in the Small Business Award section of the North-East Business Awards.
The company is one of three companies, all from Teesside, who have been shortlisted for the award, part of a competition run by the Evening Gazette and Journal newspapers. The Small Business award is sponsored by HSBC.
The shortlisting is recognition of TechConsult UK ís rapid growth since the company was established in 2006.
It recently announced that it doubled turnover to 2m last year and is on target to double that again over the next twelve months.
TechConsult UK operates within the offshore, fabrication and maintenance, process, shipbuilding, and civil engineering industries.
The company provides clients with workers including engineers, technicians, project managers and administration personnel, many of them from the North-East of England. It has five employees of its own.
Managing director Steve Guest said: ìWe are delighted to have been shortlisted, which gives a real boost to everyone who works here.
ìWe have achieved strong growth since we set up in 2006 and we believe that the shortlisting is an acknowledgment of the impact we are having on the local economy. A lot of the people we are placing in major international companies are from the Teesside area.
The awards ceremony will be held at Teesside University ís Olympia Building, in Middlesbrough, on 26th March.
The Wilton Centre operation is part of the Norwegian-based TechConsult Group, whose offices are in Bergen, Oslo and Stavanger, Norway.
