- Almost half of City workers stressed at work
- Docklands the most stressful place to work
- Exercise the preferred method to overcome stress
Stress is prevalent in the City, with nearly half of City workers feeling stressed at work. The research released today by specialist recruitment agency Robert Half Financial Services Group reveals that 43 per cent of respondents admit to feeling stressed at work, with Docklands being the most stressful place to work (54 per cent of respondents). This compares with 44 per cent of City workers and just 28 per cent of West End workers.
The survey goes on to reveal the preferred ways to overcome stress. Overwhelmingly, exercise (34 per cent) and socialising (24 per cent) are the most preferred methods to combat work related stress. In the Docklands however, the majority of workers (40 per cent) prefer to socialise rather than exercise (23 per cent).
Neil Owen, Branch Manager of Robert Half Financial Services Group said:
ìIt is very interesting to see that the majority of people still admit to feeling stressed at work. Despite efforts to help workers achieve a healthy work/life balance, demands being placed on workers continue to mount.
ìAs the war for talent continues to intensify, employers will need to be aware of employee workloads and offer a wider range of benefits such as flexi-time, extra holiday and gym subsidisation that help workers manage stress levels.î
