StepStone signs deal with UK portal, Excite - 11/2000

Direct database search

StepStone has become the preferred partner for jobs and careers with Excite. This will add to current distribution agreements with Yahoo, MSN, Freeserve, Lycos, Virgin and Internet Exchange.

The deal means StepStone will be providing Excite users with the opportunity to search the StepStone database directly from the Excite Jobs channel.

Users will be able to search in two different ways:

Category search: Selecting one of eight job definitions, for example, IT, Sales and Marketing, and then refine the search by selecting a sub-category;

Job Title search: users can search using a key word for a job title, such as marketing manager.

StepStone will also offer their JobAgent facility enabling users to receive relevant employment vacancies on a daily basis.

Commenting on the new deal, Chris Moore, marketing director of StepStone said: We are very pleased to have sealed this deal with one of the UK's most successful portals. Both parties recognise the mutual benefits to be gained in offering this service to Excite's ever increasing customer base. This new service meets a growing demand for specialist career services by Web users, and continues our strategy of providing access to our career portal through an increasing number of online channels.

This deal follows distribution deals signed with the following UK/European Internet Service Providers:
